4 Days and Counting

For real, you guys...I'm soooo tired of being sick.  This morning is the first day I ventured out of bed (other that the bathroom) since Wednesday.  It's bad.  The hardest part?  Not running!  I never thought I'd be that kind of person who got upset over having to skip running, but here I am.  I did at least get three runs done this week, including my long run, before getting too sick, so that makes me feel a bit better.  So, other than that...there's not much to report!  I'm looking forward to getting back out there again though!

BOSU Like a Boss

That's right folks, I'm now a proud owner of a BOSU.  My training plan has BOSU workouts included in it, optional but highly recommended.  After hearing everyone in my group talking about how amazing they are, I've been keeping an eye out for one.  I wasn't able to fork over the money for a new one, so I've been waiting for one to pop up for sale used.  My sister in law was even keeping an eye out for me!  Well, she found one for only $35!  I was super thrilled to say the least.
So I've been working on incorporating it into my daily routines, and MAN that thing is effective!  Talk about sore muscles.  Muscles I didn't even know I had!  But, it's good, I can definitely tell it'll help make me a stronger runner.  And thankfully I have an awesome personal trainer who will help me out ;)

Isn't she the cutest?!

Failing on Day One

I've been waiting months...literally...for the start of my half marathon training program.  I'm just that excited to tackle it!  Yesterday was the day.  The day I was supposed to start.  "Supposed to" being the key words here.  I didn't run at all.
I woke up to a text from my daughter which needed addressing, which then cut into my running time.  No biggie, it was important so I figured I'd just run later in the day.  Well, we also got nearly a foot of snow overnight, and it was still coming down!  So I had to shovel the driveway.  Twice.  And of course some sledding was in order.

I didn't manage to get a run in, but I did have tons of fun with the kids, so I guess it's worth it!  After all, life happens, and that's why it's a 20 week training program!
I also got my swag in the mail for my FitFam Challenge, which inspired my little mini runners to go for a "long run".

Aren't they the cutest?!
