Snowplow Fail

Saturdays are just about my only day right now to run outside.  Mainly because I run in the mornings during the week and don't have the right gear for running in the dark.  So, Saturdays it is!  I'm always looking forward to it, because I feel like it's my one day to "test" how fast I really am running.  My treadmill is old, and highly unreliable for things like speed and distance, and I'm not sure I can really trust my Garmin to accurately track indoor running.  The only problem with using my outdoor runs to gauge my speed?  Snow.  There's still so much snow and ice, that I'm not able to just run.  I'm dodging ice, leaping over piles of snow on every street corner and often, just running through snow that hasn't been cleared.

The neighborhood I live in takes care of plowing all the sidewalks and trails.  The only problem is they don't do it super well, so we end up with this at every single corner!  They just leave the pile of snow at the end of the sidewalk, usually several feet high. But I gotta say, it's better than this trail I found:

They apparently just gave up and stopped plowing in the middle of the trail!  Well, I still managed my run, even with all the crazy snow.  The sun was shining, and I felt great.

Hopefully spring comes soon though, I'm so ready for it!
